Common questions

How do I add a rule or file a fine?

From the home screen, open your rulebook to add a house rule with an amount attached. To file a fine, pick the broken rule and attach a photo as evidence — it lands on your partner's phone as a citation they can pay or contest.

My partner is contesting a fine I issued. What happens?

Either partner can contest any fine with one tap, right up until it's settled. No fine is final on its own — that's deliberate, so the app stays a game between you two rather than something either of you has to win.

Where does the fine money actually go?

Nowhere, as far as the app is concerned. Fine Print keeps score — it never moves, holds, or has access to real money. You and your partner settle up however you already handle money together (cash, a shared account, whatever works), and just mark it settled in the app.

How do subscriptions and restoring a purchase work?

A single yearly purchase unlocks Premium for both partners on that shared goal. If a purchase didn't unlock after buying it, or you're setting up a new device, look for "Restore Purchases" in Settings. If that doesn't fix it, email us with the store (App Store or Google Play) and roughly when you bought it.

How do I delete my account and data?

Settings → Delete account & data, inside the app — this works without contacting us and removes everything on your device. Full steps: how to delete your account. See the Privacy Policy for exactly what that deletes.

Is my data backed up if I lose my phone?

No — by design, everything you write (rules, fines, photos, your goal) lives only on your device and is never uploaded to us. That means we can't recover it if the device is lost, but it also means nothing you write ever sits on a server we control. Details in the Privacy Policy.
